STRATEGIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE COMPANIES ON OLIGOPOLISTIC MARKET

Examining of the firm’s behaviour on oligopolistic market is very difficult problem. Starting from some basic postulates of game theory, the article explains different types of firm’s strategic behaviour on oligopolistic market, beginning from the threats, over the obstruction of new company entry, negotiation and cooperation, to the connection of companies.

Special emphasis in the article is on basic factors which influence on the firm’s choice of the appropriate strategy on oligopolistic market. These factors are: age of the industry in which company works, characteristics of goods, dimension of the entry and exit barriers and company’s position on the concrete market.
